Spousal Visa (Future Plans)

I thought I’d update everyone on something my wife and I have been working on for several months.

I applied for Mare Cris’ spousal (CR1) visa a few months after we got married.  So far things have gone smoothly, but it is a long process that involves a good bit of paperwork (I’m very thankful to the  Filipina Fiancee Visa Service for guiding me through it).  We’re starting to see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, but we know we still need to be patient.

We are planning to move to the USA once the visa is approved.   God willing, we’ll begin the next chapter of our lives there (which will include starting a family).

I have mixed emotions about leaving the Philippines, but I’m also very excited about introducing my wife to my family members in person.  More importantly, I’m eager to see what God has in store for us in this new phase of life.

I’ll write more about all these issues in the future. I just wanted to make a brief post to let everyone know what we are doing and planning.

  1. Wow. I didn’t realize you are planning to move back to the US. God bless on the next steps. I’m very impressed on how God used you in your work in the Philippines – now, God has a new plan. Many Pinoys will miss you.

  2. Thank you, Jason. At some point I’ll share more of my thoughts and feelings about leaving and our future plans. For now I just kind of wanted to update everyone.
