Seven Days; Six Seminars

The week of Valentine’s Day turned out to be quite eventful. Starting Sunday and ending this morning (Saturday), The Lord blessed me with six speaking engagements. I am still amazed that He can use someone like me to speak to students. I have seen God’s faithfulness in so many ways this week:

*The power was out when I arrived at the church on Sunday afternoon for their youth service. A pastor prayed with me, asking God to give us electricity in time. The electricity came on just in time for us to get the program and seminar started.

*Wednesday we had a problem with the LCD projector (we did not have the right cord to attach it to my laptop). Someone found the right cord just in time–we started a little late, but we were able to finish in the allotted time.

*Thursday I had the opportunity to share TLW to a deaf audience (about half of those in attendance were deaf and got the message through their teacher/translator). It was the first time I’ve been able to serve students who are hearing impaired, and I considered it a great honor. Some of these students also spoke with me personally (through their teacher) after the seminar.

*I praise and thank God for my physical health (sometimes I forget to thank Him for this). My voice held up just fine, even though I had to really speak up at some of the venues.

*I praise God for the opportunity to interact with diverse groups of students. Some of the seminars I did were for church youth groups and high school students. This was something new for me, since I normally only do seminars on college campuses. Even though I was “out of my element,” God was faithful to give us successful presentations.

*Many speaking engagements were with smaller, more intimate groups. I also enjoy big groups, but the smaller groups allow for more Q/A time.

I hope that all of you who attended were blessed. I hope that many students will commit their lives to Christ and will commit themselves to sexual purity as a result of this week’s ministry.

Maybe some of you at University Baptist Church are just hoping I’ll never wear that shirt again 🙂
