Pastor Kevin Sanders

"He must increase, but I must decrease." -John 3:30

Quotable: AW Tozer

“Millions call themselves by His name, it is true, and pay some token respect to Him, but a simple test will show how little He is really honored among them. Let the average man be put ot the proof on the question of who or what is above, and his true position will be exposed. Let him be forced into making a choice between God and money, God and men, between God and personal ambition, God and self, God and human love, and God will take second place every time. Those other things will be exalted above. However the man may protest, the proof is in the choices he makes day after day throughout his life.”

A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God

I read this book years ago–I need to read it again this year.

  1. Kevin – thanks for the quote. I also recommend it to your readers. Madali lang basahin yung libro! Tozer also challenges our idolatry and materialism and ask if we are willing to go through sorrow and poverty to enjoy God. True blessedness is experienced if we pursue God more than any material wealth and comfort. Having THE ONE is all we need.

  2. Ah, so true.

Because we look for fulfillment and joy in the wrong places and the wrong things.

  3. Makes you ask what hinders me to find quiet time for God.

  4. Such a classic book and so challenging. Brings you nearer the heart of God and makes you weep over your sinfulness.

  5. Thanks for posting this comment. Tozer always has a way of illuminating the truth in his writings and sermons.
