Billy Graham’s Last Wish

I had the opportunity to preach again tonight.  It’s been about a month since we’ve had worship, and it was great to minister again.

Something was on my mind as I prepared for tonight’s message.  I watched this video a few days ago:

Pay close attention to Graham’s statement to his son:  “Franklin, I wish I could preach one more time.”

I believe this quote will stay with me for a while.  It says a lot about Billy Graham’s heart for evangelism.

But this last wish has a more personal application for me.  It’s reminder of just how quickly life passes by–a reminder that all ministries, including mine, will one day come to an end.  I’m inspired to preach my heart out while I still have time and strength.

Thanks, brother Billy.  Even your last wish has ministered to my soul.

As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
-John 9:4

its people like him who stay on until their twilight years still on fire for God, preach loudest and clearest,

China and India are on the rise at these times because of the missionaries who responded to God’s call to go there-unwavering centuries ago-they never lived to see the fruits of their labor which is today…

    but we do, I do.

  6. Billy Graham is truly an inspiration to us. What a great man!

  7. This was very poinent (spelling?)
Kevin. I’m sitting here with my cousin Carla and we were reading your messages together. Thanks for inspiring us today to share our faith as we go out and about. God Bless! Love, Ginger

  8. I confess to not knowing Billy Graham very well except that he’s well known for his evangelistic works.

You know, you’re right about not making decisions while frustrated in the ministry,…when you’ve calmed down and one third of the work load to be done is done….your outlook changes….

Guess I was really justt stressed. Thanks.

  9. Hi Kuya! Thanks for this post. I was greatly inspired. I hope you don’t mind, I quoted you on my blog. I have a link there to this post. 🙂

  10. Great blog that you have. Inspiring too. Ran across a most unusual letter that Mrs. Billy Graham sent to journalist/historian Dave MacPherson years ago. To see it, Google “Letter from Mrs. Billy Graham.” God bless you all. Luanna
